The Healey Werks Announces Fire Training/Education Grant
(December 12, 2007, Lawton, IA) Having recently celebrated their 20th anniversary, Restoration Specialist The Healey Werks proudly announces the first annual Healey Werks Fire Training/Education Grant. As a small business The Healey Werks believes in giving back to the community and helping programs that serve the community at large. In effort to help with fire prevention and protection within Woodbury County, this training grant aims to provide small volunteer fire departments with the supplemental funding needed to accomplish these and related goals.

The training grant amount is set at $1500 to be awarded as single or multiple awards based on the Volunteer Fire Department’s application. All decisions will be made and funding awarded by March 31st 2008. Awards are based on review of the grant committee.

The Healey Werks Announces Groundbreaking of New Restoration Facility
(August 22, 2007, Lawton, IA) Having recently celebrated their 20th anniversary, Restoration Specialist The Healey Werks celebrates the ground breaking of a new 25,000 sq.ft. state-of-the-art facility at their current location near Lawton Iowa. The new facility is designed to increase efficiencies, expand in-house capabilities and accommodate additional restoration demand. In addition the new facility will allow The Healey Werks to continue growth of their Concept Engineering and Prototyping services.

Owners Craig and Shari Hillinger explain that years of growth within the confines of the current facility have influenced efficiencies and practices required for the scale and range of work being done. Integrating these business practices within the new facility will allow us to reach the next level of excellence, accommodate the growing demand for our services, and keep the all-encompassing workmanship within our campus. Completion of the new facility is estimated to be spring 2008.

Ground breaking ceremony is planned for 10am Thursday August 23rd 2007, with plans and information available, on the campus located at 1821 Hwy 20 Lawton Iowa. (4 miles East of Sioux City)


The Healey Werks is proud to announce that Mr. Cooper’s Austin Healey 3000 scored higher than any in the history of Austin Healey Concours judging with 996.5 points out of 1000 possible at Ohio Odyssey Conclave 2006. Mr. Cooper was able to share the history of this car with the judges as well as the unique qualities and processes of restoration leading to the car’s museum quality restoration. It is obvious that Mr. Cooper’s desire to preserve the history of the Austin Healey 3000 in its most original form has been successful and can be enjoyed for generations to come. Craig Hillinger and the staff of The Healey Werks were pleased to be part of this outstanding achievement and send our Congratulations to Mr. Cooper for this award winning Healey.

Introducing the HURCO VM1 Vertical CNC Milling Machine
The CNC Milling Machine has arrived! The Healey Werks is now able to machine many of the obsolete and unique restoration parts in-house to reduce cost and process time. Our Hurco VM1 CNC Closed Door Machining Center has DXF Software which allows the Machinist to convert a PDF or CAD file to a DXF file. The file can then be loaded into the CNC Machine and the machine will generate a program with little to no adjustments. With the Hurco VM1 Vertical CNC Milling Machine and program capabilities, the endless production possibilities include text, photos, complex contours and difficult geometry. The high level of accuracy, reduced programming time and increased capability for complex design make the Hurco VM1 Vertical CNC Milling Machine the perfect match for The Healey Werks.

1500 HP Dyno: A chassis dynamometer is currently being installed in our service department. The Healey Werks will soon be able to test your vehicle performance in a controlled environment. Common uses for the chassis dynamometer are testing accurate measurement of vehicle output, fuel consumption, noise, emissions, measurement of driveline losses, and rapid power checks.

Eckold Kraftformer: An Eckhold Kraftformer was recently added to the fabrication department. This machine is used for coldforming sheetmetal and profiles. It can be used to produce parts or body components that are difficult to locate or no longer available. Through three-dimensional sheet forming, bending profile sections, seamclosing, and removing wrinkles in existing panels this machine allows for more efficient production.
